What kind of wood do you need to build architectural models of buildings? - architectural model building supplies

I would like models of buildings in mine, so I can show, which will be rendered in 3D. What supplies do I need and what kind of wood do I need?

  1. Personally, I use balsa wood because it is a good balance between strength and lightness, in addition to its very flexible. You will also need measuring instruments (a metal ruler, glue is best) and good. If you have a local arts and craft shop, which will probably give the needed help in the selection of a team:)

  2. Balsa is a good way to a scale of 1:200 or 1:500 to block. A more detailed model might include a wide range of materials. Models of wood-block for the presentation are often of high quality wood, and partly because you can work with accuracy and a hard edge.
Balsa wood is easy to process, but tend to be a little soft, hard to get a hard edge.
